OK, so it’s been nearly a year…. boo, hiss…. yes, you’re right, It’s been a bit of a struggle recently, so I’ll be trying a bit of the little & often approach now…. mmmmmmmmm!!!!
The Little Shift about on the LSMusic BlogZone is nearly done now, so that’s a relief…. I had all sorts of problems with the latest WordPress updates, but we got there….

I’m pretty sure now that I’ve become a Tweakoholic…. I’m still spending too much time playing with new services, & then having to tweak the site to incorporate the shiny new widget I must have!…. I’m already obsessive-compulsive with desktop widgets, so I’m a Widgoholic as well.
Thankfully I think I’m fairly settled on my choice of main social networks now – Facebook & Topixz for the Communities, & Twitter for more Business related stuff. Meebo has become indispensable as my communication platform – it’s just incredibly versatile, & very reliable now.
The YI DVD project is now more focused, & I’m wading through the many video clips & photo we have…. editing these down into what will become part 2 of the DVD – The background & history of all 3 shows…. Brian Davies is formalising the structure right now.
Musically, things are still way behind schedule, but I’m feeling a lot more positive about things now…. I shall be releasing a collection of my old favourite covers shortly…. Cheers-4-Now!…. Back Soon.
Well, Surprise, Surprise I’m Behind Schedule again…. Like many of you, I was battling the bugs over Christmas & New Year, thankfully I didn’t go completely under, but it certainly didn’t make things any easier!…. So that leaves me still doing Christmas Tracks for another week or so, which is odd, but not as bad as doing them in the late summer, which has happened before!
The Live Video Streaming Tests I’ve been doing have been going well, after a rockey start – Initially I just kept getting crash after crash on my main PC, but things seem to have settled down – Using the Adobe Flash Media Encoder Now, quite successfully…. The Audio is much more stable, and in Stereo now. I’m still doing mostly tests with Lower Bitrates at present – To save Bandwidth, as a couple of HQ Tests I did used up half my monthly bandwidth allocation in 2 Days!!…. But I’m gonna be changing my ISP soon anyway, and will have to buy a package with a bigger monthly allocation.
I’ve been really getting into the social networking/media thing…. I finally “got it” & am starting to get just a little bit obsessed by it all. It really does start to get quite compulsive, so I will have to ration my time a bit, but the new friends & contacts that i’ve made have already made a difference to my psyche – providing an awful lot of Positive Vibes, which seems to be rubbing off on me!
Next on the agenda is a DVD Project, working with Brian Davies, a very dear, long time friend of mine, & my family – We’ll be Packaging the Old Video tapes & other content of my dear old Dads shows. Focusing primarily on the “Yesterday’s Island” Material – I’ll be giving more details on this in future posts here.
I’d better crack on now, before I get out of the Christmassy mood I’m still in!!…. Cheers-4-Now…. Laurie.

This brings us to Content…. Which is still Slowly Progressing,

I’m trying to Incorporate more Real Guitar into the Tracks,
but I got so out of Practice
(Just being plain Lazy in letting MIDI Programming do all the Work!)
that I’ve had to spend a Load of Time just Rehearsing
even fairly straight forward Guitar Parts!….
My fingers have just about recovered
from the Initial Shock
and have regained their former Hard Skin Tips
…….. Much to my Relief!
There’s still loads of other stuff to do of course,
but as someone one said – “were getting there” – I Think!

You might have noticed my lack of activity on LSM at present….
It’s been a combination of having other priorities & struggling a bit health wise, but a couple more weeks & I should be back in full effect. I’ve still got quite a bit more re-organising of my work area’s to do, but they’re already vastly improved!…. Upgraded to Cubase 4 Finally…. Thankfully the UI’s not vastly different from version 3 – So there’s no great learning curve!…. Not sure how many Surround Sound mixes I’ll be doing though!!!! – CU soon – With Lots Of Thanks from…. Well Hi There – Here’s the 1st proper(ish) installment of my blog!
I’ve been beavering away in the background trying to learn about putting these website thingies together. You know there’s quite a lot more to it all than meets the eye – literally.
I’ve got a hell of a lot to learn, but at least I think my cunning plan is starting to come together – & that isn’t something that happens every day!
Most of the bits of the site are now ready for action – but now I’ve got to get back to the Music.
I got back to my first singing rehearsal for awhile today – which went well – though my throat is now feeling suitably rough!
I hope to have a few new tracks on the site in about 3 Weeks all being well.
I don’t know how often this blog will have a new chapter – We’ll have to see!
